IcelandOnTheWeb.com is the online booking site and trading name of Nordic Holidays ehf which also runs www.carrentalsiniceland.com, www.cheapcarrentaliceland.com, www.campersiniceland.com and www.flights.is. We offer a variety of tours, excursions and activities through our website Iceland On The Web. For further information about us, please read here: About Us.
The Terms & Conditions outlined below apply to all bookings made on this website. They form the basis of your contract with Iceland On The Web. We encourage you to read the terms and conditions carefully since they set out our respective rights and obligations. If we receive a booking request from you, we will assume that you have had the opportunity to read and that you have read these terms and conditions and that you agree to them.
Bookings
When you make a booking on Iceland On The Web, you thereby confirm that you understand and have accepted these booking conditions.
We will arrange to provide you with the various services which form part of the tour you book with us. Before your booking is confirmed and a contract comes into existence, we reserve the right to increase, decrease and correct errors in advertised prices and to change any of the information. Errors in price and information will be corrected and give us right to cancel or alter the reserved tour. Changes will be made known to you at the time of booking.
Any booking made or order placed by you through this website or otherwise, shall be considered an offer by you to purchase the relevant tour or other travel arrangement subject to these booking conditions. No contract between you and Iceland On The Web shall come into existence until Iceland On The Web accepts full payment and issues a confirmation invoice. The person who makes the booking accepts these conditions on behalf of all members of the party and is responsible for all payment due from the party. Our booking services are only available to persons who are at least 18 years old. By submitting a booking, you guarantee and confirm to us that you comply with these arrangements.
The date shown on the invoice is the date of booking. It is important to check the details on the invoice when you get it. If any details appear to be incorrect or incomplete, please contact us immediately.
Terms of Payment
As with flights, tours are paid upon booking but we wait 24 hours to charge your card while we make sure your tour bookings are confirmed with the appropriate tour operators. In the event that Iceland On The Web is unable to obtain confirmation from the appropriate tour operator, we will offer an alternative. If you do not accept the alternative, or we are not able to offer an alternative, no charge will be made. You will be notified of the relevant charges prior to issue of a confirmation invoice.
If your tours are being paid for with a third-party credit card, we will require written authorisation to be provided by the cardholder via email.
We accept most major credit cards, such as Visa, MasterCard, but American Express and Diners charges Iceland On The Web high handling fees and we regretfully have to pass on a fee of 4% of the total invoice to our clients.
Privacy Policy
Icelandontheweb (Nordic Holidays) will never give out any information, personal or other, to a third party. No information is stored in our databases that could lead to misuse in the wrong hands. Your details, email address f.eks, are safe with us.
Validity of Prices
All prices on the Iceland On The Web website are per person, or per vehicle, unless otherwise specified and they are shown including VAT and all other taxes (subject to change of such taxes).
All rates quoted or shown in our prices are based on current prices and are subject to change without notice in the event of currency fluctuation, government taxes, or any such cost increase that is beyond the control of Iceland On The Web. Any eventual changes in rates will not be made without at least eight weeks' notice. After the final invoice has been issued, the price is guaranteed against any surcharge, unless an increase is due to government laws or currency changes. Iceland On The Web will absorb an amount equivalent to 5% of the package price. Amounts exceeding 5% will be charged, but, should the surcharge exceed 10%, you will be entitled to cancel your booking with a full refund. No compensation will be paid and Iceland On The Web shall have no further liability to you.
Iceland On The Web reserves the right to correct wrong pricing, in case a booking is made on a tour or activity that holds a wrong price within the booking system. In such cases, you will be informed as soon as possible and advised about the correction. Should you need to pay an additional fee, you will have the option of doing so. However, if you choose to cancel the booking, you will be fully refunded in the same currency as your purchase was made. No compensation will be paid and Iceland On The Web shall have no further liability to you.
Exchange Rates & Currency Converter
All bookings of tours in Iceland are charged in Icelandic Króna (ISK), the official currency of Iceland.
Our currency converter at the bottom of each webpage is linked directly to the Central Bank of Iceland and gives you an approximate price in other currencies. However, your bank or credit card provider might use a slightly different exchange rate and the exchange rate fluctuates from day to day – so this can never be completely accurate. Furthermore, your bank will convert your payment to your local currency and may charge an additional conversion fee, in which case the amount you see on your billing statement may differ from the total amount shown in your booking confirmation. If you have any questions about this fee or the exchange rate applied to your payment, please contact your bank.

Liability
Iceland On The Web disclaims responsibility for any loss, damage, accident, injury, sickness or schedule change due to weather, strike or any other cause beyond the control of Iceland On The Web. The standard Force Majeure or 'Act of God' clause applies and frees both parties from liability or obligation when an extraordinary event or circumstances beyond the control of the parties (clients / tour operator) prevent one or both parties from fulfilling their obligations under the contract.
Iceland On The Web acts in good faith, and cannot be held responsible for any tour operator, guide, vendor or any other person's or company's acts, defaults or delays. Iceland On The Web accepts no liability for any breach of contract or negligent act or omission of any experience/activity provider.
Iceland On The Web and tour operator reserve the right to alter routes, itineraries or departure times, without prior notice, should the necessity arise, for example due to adverse weather or road conditions. In the event that this results in ensuing changes to flights (domestic and international), the passenger is responsible for any additional costs incurred (i.e. additional hotel nights, meals, transfers, etc.) at the time service is provided. We therefore advise all customers to have comprehensive travel insurance to meet all contingencies.
Activities and experiences which form part of your tour: We offer a variety of activities, from sightseeing to adventure activities, including glacier hiking, rafting or diving. Some of these experiences and activities are subject to minimum numbers, and may be cancelled at short notice. In such circumstances, you will receive a full refund of monies paid for the experience or activity in question.
If a tour is cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control, or due to minimum numbers not having been reached, we will refund the money you have paid. No compensation will be paid and Iceland On The Web shall have no further liability to you.
Please note that the Level of difficulty estimate, indicated in our tour descriptions and the Trip Planner in connection with various activities, is made by the tour operators for that tour and is for participants in good health and average physical condition.
Comments & Complaints
Our aim is to provide outstanding customer service and we therefore maintain strict quality monitoring. We value customer opinion and would appreciate your comments. If you have a problem during your holiday, please inform the relevant tour operator immediately so that they can respond and hopefully fix what is wrong. This should be your first course of action if a problem arises. If, for any reason, you are dissatisfied with your tour bookings, we want to hear about it. We recommend you contact us as soon as any incident arises. If you are unable to do so at the time, you must advise Iceland On The Web in writing by email within 30 days of your return. Failure to do so may jeopardise your right to compensation.
